Students interpret and demonstrate practical application of technical drawings. Students explain linear dimensioning, correct tolerances, lines, symbols and 3rd angle projection. They analyze scales, datums, and orthographic projection, as well as examine parts lists and apply learning to navigate and utilize process specifications. Instruction includes interpreting mechanical/manufacturing blueprints per American Society of Mechanical Engineers Y14 Standards (2009). Emphasis is on practical applications of this standard as applied to reading and interpreting engineering production drawings and updates. 50% tuition rate for Apprenticeships
