An introduction to the methods of plant propagation including methods of propagating by true seed, bulbs, divisions, layering, cuttings, budding, grafting, and micro-propagation. Emphasis is placed on the basic principles necessary to furnish an adequate understanding for commercial and industrial application. $35 science fee. Course Outcomes: 1. have acquired a comprehensive knowledge of the science of plant propagation. 2. have developed a practicing level of skill in the art of plant propagation by seeds and vegetative organs . 3. have developed a working vocabulary of plant propagation terminology and its proper use both orally and in writing . 4. have developed a continuing interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the principles and techniques of plant propagation. 5. have developed critical thinking skill through class discussions, outside reading assignments, and field practice.
