HCAD 402: Healthcare Information & Data Analytics

This course focuses on the information resource of management and introduces the fundamental concepts of data analytics. The course focuses on data analytic methods in framing and answering strategic questions facing decision makers in a variety of business sectors. The course will introduce theories and methods for analysis and communication of various kinds and types of data. This course will introduce various analytical techniques that are practical and feasible while being relevant and ethically and legally viable. The course promotes proficiency with technology and its essential managerial applications. This course is cross-listed with AG 402, AMGT 402, and NRS 315. Students completing HCAD 402 may not receive graduation credit for AG 402, AMGT 402, or NRS 315. Class must be passed with a 2.0 or better to count for BAS Applied Management degree. Course Outcomes: 1. Discuss technological change including disruption, evolution, adoption and diffusion and innovation ILO 1; PLO 5. 2. Collaborate within a group on technology applications for sharing and tracking multiple concurrent authors ILOs 3 & 4; PLOs 5 & 6 3. Formulate a technology plan for new information systems, including estimation of both costs and benefits ILOs 2 &3 PLOs 8 & 9. 4. Create, display and communicate web content using templates, best practices of social technology, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for establishing and maintaining online customer connections, reputation management, and legal compliance ILOs 3, 4, & 5 PLOs 5, 8, & 10. 5. Construct a solution to an elemental business problem by coding an algorithm within a programming environment ILOs 1, 2, & 4; PLO 8. 6. Prerequisite

Completion of AMGT 360, BUS& 101, CS 101, ENGL 410 or ENGL 315, and CMST 415, all with a 2.0 or better. Acceptance into a BAS/BSN program, completion of a two-year degree or equivalent, or instructor approval.
