This course introduces the fundamental principles and techniques of phlebotomy. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on laboratory practice, students will learn essential skills in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and specimen handling. Topics include the anatomy of the circulatory system, infection control, safety procedures, patient interaction, and professional ethics in the healthcare environment. Students will also explore the importance of quality assurance and legal considerations in phlebotomy. This course prepares students for real-world clinical experiences by building a solid foundation of knowledge and skills necessary for success in the healthcare field. $10.72 per quarter malpractice insurance fee.
