PLM 106: Introduction to Our Union [RE]

This is a course for apprentices new to the pipefitting trade. The purpose is to teach fiscal responsibility, understanding contracts, civic duties, roots of trade unions, and the importance of working safely in today's world. The class is comprised of the following: finance, contracts, civics, history, and health and safety. 50% tuition rate for Apprenticeships

PLM 107: Pipe Fabrication [RE]

This is a class specifically designed to teach apprentices fabrication of industrial piping. Through classroom lecture and discussion of best practices when working with piping fabrication, the student will be able to move to the hands-on part of the course. The hands-on section will challenge the apprentice to comprehend an isometric drawing, select the proper piping material and fabricate it to the proper dimensions via takeoffs, set/place a vessel and pump assembly with a crane, plumb/align all fabrication components, and weld and/or bolt up various fabrication components as per American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME B31 code. The use and practice of safety will be highly stressed. 50% tuition rate for Apprenticeships
