Safety on the worksite is the emphasis for this class - designed to be the first of 16 courses necessary for completion of the carpentry apprenticeship program. This course offers certifications for First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, and Fall Protection. There is training with basic hand and power tool usage, basic knot tying, and the usage of the Construction Master Pro calculator. The apprentice will be introduced to many of the basic skills and knowledge necessary for success in today's construction industry. Expectations, challenges, and opportunities encountered by today's carpenter are anticipated and discussed. The introduction and development of safe and efficient work habits and positive character traits for the workplace also will be emphasized. 50% tuition rate for Apprenticeships
